Κύκλωπες, controversial figure
Sons of Uranus and Gaia, the Cyclopes were extraordinary creatures, endowed with uncommon craftsmanship and intelligence, specialised in working with iron and passionate about art. Great allies of the gods, they were in charge of making lightning bolts for the god Zeus. They are brought back to us, however, as animalistic figures: great mindless energies, endowed only with primordial instincts, deprived even of vocabulary.
